Ouch!! You're guessing wrong. I asked you for the package in March and thanked you already for giving it to me. I think I was asking that question "just in case". I don't mean to pollute the forum with redundancy.

"just in case" of what?  I don't recall everyone and the conversations that I have with them or what information I have supplied. I answer hundreds of posts weekly.

I do have another question though. I thought I was waiting for the NVC number to use on the DS-160, but the DS-160 only asked for the USCIS Case number. Did I misunderstand something?

Thanks again!

I only know what others have reported and that they needed the case number and most used the NVC number. Then try using the WAC # and see if you can complete the DS-160, Online Nonimmigrant Visa Application with it. Let me know what you use so I can inform others when the time comes.

Just in case, in light of current circumstances, that someone here might have some other information that I might not know. I didn't ask you specifically. I realize that you do a lot around here and I try not to bother you with questions that you get hundreds of times.

The DS-160 asked for the USCIS number that starts with 3 letters and is 13 digits long, it didn't ask for the NVC number which is the same, 3 letters and 13 digits, so it made me question. We used the USCIS number, so now I'm thinking it might be wrong and obviously can't change it now.

Discard the Ds-160 start another one(even if you have submitted it online) ... Call NVC and get your case number... Update your Emil with them if you haven't.... Follow vjers here you will be amazed what you learn

It specifically asks for the USCIS case number. I don’t see where and how it’s wrong. It’s in the instructions, and I have put that one as well.
It says “your application receipt/petition was given to you by the Department of Homeland Security’s United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) after you filed your petition application at a USCIS Service Center.”

The only problem I’m having is that I wanted to print out the whole application for my records (I know it doesn’t have to be brought to the interview) but I’m unable to do so. Does anyone know why? It only lets me print out the confirmation page, but not the application.

Thanks for the confirmation! I had to print out each page at a time before she signed. I only got to print everything out on one though. The other got signed before we got a chance to print it out, so we only have the confirmation page on that one. I couldn't figure it out either.

From what I was reading it’s a common problem unfortunately. I have no idea on how to print it out and it’s kind of odd. I tried several times but nothing worked ...

This is a place to learn. I just ask that you use the PDF to answer your question as many many many times before you, others have had the same question. I didn't have to write the PDF, and I don't have to answer questions, and I don't have to be here, but it is what I like to do. I am not signaling you out but only trying to help you with your answer. When I say refer to the PDF it's meant for you to have your question answered there with much more detail then I care to populate in the thread only because I answer so many questions and it gets frustrating to answer over and over again. Most come to a thread like this and they do not read the entire thread as many times their topic has be discussed.

I have many seasoned pros here on VJ that do not care to be in the NOA1 and NOA2 K-1 discussion threads because they see and hear the same questions over and over. I walked a mile in your shoes please walk a mile in mine.

Further to the DS-160, Online Nonimmigrant Visa Application, thanks for the information that the USCIS number can ALSO be used as well as the NVC case number. As always Good luck and stay engaged.

There should be a way to print everything at the end. I guess as long as we have the confirmation, we should be ok.

This is a learning moment for me. I appreciate the updated information from you and @USUK8 have provided on the use and need for the USCIS number. I will update the PDF to reflect your and their information. Thank you.

The DS-160, Online Nonimmigrant Visa Application was never designed to print the entire application as it is not needed as the CO can use their computer systems to view and then tie your DS-160, Online Nonimmigrant Visa Application to your application. I have not heard of a way to print it out except by screen print or if you have a program called "snagit" which is the one I use to capture information that will help me demonstrate an answer.

All they want is the confirmation page as that gives them the bar code to access and tie it to your application. It's a way of having a greener process.

Thank you for this answer, I’m going to look more into that program and hopefully I will be able to print it out. It merely was for my records, but I’ll try anyway.

Talking about the USCIS case number, I had decided to enter that one simply because it specifically asked for it and I thought it would be correct to follow the instructions carefully. In other past threads I’ve seen that other people had used the USCIS case number as well. But I guess it indeed doesn’t really change much, at the end both case numbers are specific and unique for the same application. Glad we could get this figured out!

@Greenbaum do you by any chance have a have a P3  for Guangzhou?

The GUZ P3 is what prevents people in China from getting a head start, they want the instructions page mailed back with the requested documents.

http://www.ustraveldocs.com/cn/cn-iv-visaapplyinfo.asp#KVisaPetitions

P3 Letter for China:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1gcrLW0OCkGfdz43tehWNmgDayJUrRTdj/view?usp=sharing

U.S. Consulate General Guangzhou when it is time to schedule an interview. K visa applicants will be notified by the U.S. Consulate General Guangzhou when it is time to schedule an interview. You cannot schedule your interview appointment till such time as you have been sent the P3 letter from the Embassy and have returned the requested documents.

Here is some help from other members here on VJ:
http://www.visajourney.com/forums/forum/94-china/

And the Portal here on VJ for processing in China and what to expect
http://www.visajourney.com/consulates/index.php?ctry=China&cty=Guangzhou

and the http://www.ustraveldocs.com/cn/cn-iv-visaapplyinfo.asp

Don't waste time while you're waiting for P3, complete DS-160 and print confirmation page. Since you are from China go to the 2nd link below and click immigrant to register under K1 visa. After you register and enter info it should be clear on how to pay fee, make sure you print bank deposit slip. Just follow directions under Nonimmigrant Visa, but make sure when you register K1 is under Immigrant Visa.

Directions go to http://www.ustraveldocs.com/cn/cn-niv-visaapply.asp

Register(Create Account) https://cgifederal.secure.force.com/?language=English&country=China

After you register make sure to choose K1 visa under Immigrant, it wasn't an option for under non-immigrant.

If you find anything not up to date or the information is wrong, please share your findings. Please compare the date of the P3 of mine with the date from your copy, once you receive yours from your embassy. Keep in mind that I try and be factual with my information, but I can't do it on my own and that's where you come in and can give back to the community those who come behind you. Without others ahead of you I would not be able to provide this to you.  I can only share factual information if folks like you continue to be my eyes and ears for your embassy. I wish you much success in your visa journey.
