Military spouse overseas remove conditions/citizenship

Hello everyone. 
 

I currently hold a green card that expires in September this year. I know I have to remove conditions and then apply for citizenship later on, however I have a friend that keeps telling me that being a military spouse I can skip the process of removing conditions and just apply for citizenship as we are stationed overseas. Is this true?

Yes, if you are on the orders with your spouse for being stationed OCONUS then you can file for expedited naturalization.

I'm just shocked I've heard this from a friend when we have a lawyer that keeps sending me reminders to remove conditions in June and now this comes up and reading on uscis.gov it does state I can skip the removing of conditions. 

My GC expires on September this year so I should remove conditions in June..but with this news..do I just apply for form N-400 and support with documentation whenever?

Again, I'm in shock

Yep... You apply with the spouses orders and request it to be expedited due to those orders. All of which you can do online na. I have moved your post to the Military subforum so you can scout around better and see others that have done it

I’ve email the lawyer that helped me with the GC process, to see what she would say about this and she said that we can apply if I’ve been overseas under my husband’s order for a year.. I have not seen this information anywhere on uscis 😂

Look up 319b. Also if you file online there is a spot where you can check to have it expedited due to deployment

You don’t need to wait the full year being overseas. Attached is straight from USCIS website. A lot of great info on there.

That’s exactly what I found! Don’t know where that lawyer got the one year thing, doesn’t make any sense. Anyways, I’ll go to Legal in base this coming week and hopefully I can get some more information about it, and if it’s a sure thing then just apply for it

Its right there under the 2nd bullet point.  If you will be or have been gone for less than 1 year this wont work.

Correct. My statement should be will be overseas for at least one year. However you can file prior to the one year mark of being overseas
