Online vs Mail submission of N-400 Form

Hello,

   I am working on preparing my wife's US Citizenship application and saw that now USCIS offers to submit application online as well as mail submission. Which is a preferred method? If you do online submission, how do you submit all evidence documents? (e.g. copy of green card, marriage certificate, spouse's naturalization certificate/passport, IRS transcripts etc)?

Read the instructions for N-400.  Starting at page 10, it tells you what to provide with the form and what to provide at interview.

Online is faster and everything is uploaded and saved electronically for you and for USCIS....but the choice is ultimately up to you :)

Online or paper, it is a personal choice.  Some say online is faster, not really sure that is always the case, my wife filed paper and was naturalized in under six months.  Speed is mostly governed by the local office handling the case, but filing online does seem to have some advantages such as adding additional documents, and saving a USCIS clerks time in scanning documents, etc.  The only drawback I have ever heard of with online is if you file on the day the window opens the IT system can mess up the date showing you filed a day early.  There is an easy fix, wait a day or two after the window opens before submitting anything online.

I preferred online, I filed online in may 2019 had my interview on Dec 11 and my oath this upcoming Tuesday Dec 31. You can scan and upload all your documents in, you can review them later. All the letters they send you will be uploaded to your account and mailed to your home.
