I was given a 221g at my interview for official transcripts from the IRS for every sponsor.  We had submitted photocopies of the tax returns and W-2s but they were not accepted.

How many sponsors you had that you had to mention "every sponsor" You likely got 221G for different reasons.

Actually i am just wondering what financially documents should I submit in nvc? W-2 , tax return or tax transcripts?

Check the Applicable I-864 forms instructions. The required docs are laid out in there.

Also check the NVC page, you need the docs mentioned in required and it never hurts to give optional stuff.

few notes on tax doc stuff:

  • Transcripts are always preferred.
    • Transcripts are not equal to Returns (aka From 1040).
  • If you are or have been filing your taxes as:
    • Single : You need either Transcript OR Return and W2
    • Married Filing Jointly: You will need Transcript and W2 OR Return and W2.

Hello,
I have applied for my spouse who is in Pakistan. The case is in NVC now ad we have to submit the i864 and everything else to sponsor. I am the primary sponsor but I have a joint sponsor too sponsoring him. Can someone guide me how to go about it? Do I. fill out i864 one for me and one for the join sponsor? Or just one about both? and then obviously the tax papers and proof of residency papers of me and the joint sponsor goes with it.

Thanks!!

It’s best to start a new thread for your question rather than adding on to an older thread.
both primary sponsor AND joint sponsor each provide their paperwork including I864 and required supporting documents .. the only time this doesn’t happen is when the primary sponsor is using a member of their household by combining incomes to meet the requirement. When this is the situation, the primary sponsor completes the I 864 and the household member completes the I864a
