Is the only way to reschedule a visa interview by missing it first?

I would like to submit my documents to NVC now, but it worries me that if all goes well, I will get a january interview on the only day I can't go (I'm finishing school). It's seems NVC is reviewing documents randomly now with some getting approved in only a day, and others in weeks, and my embassy schedules interviews fast apparently.

If it's too complicated to reschedule then I will just wait a couple of weeks more to submit.

I believe that if you need to reschedule an interview you can just contact the embassy and request a reschedule. It’s not recommended to simply no-show an interview, if you can’t make the date it’s recommended that you contact and reschedule, but of course you can always postpone submitting too if you’re worried about it and don’t want to go through possibly having to contact to reschedule
