I am a permanent resident of Canada  but originally from India. Came to Canada about 5 years ago as a student.

I did masters in engineering here in Canada and I have been working for almost 3 years.

I had my K-1 visa interview at US consulate Montreal.

July 24, 2019. My visa was refused.

My passport was returned to me and my case was under administrative processing.

I had a B1/B2 visa on my passport, officer cancelled it as well. Stamp says (Cancelled without Prejudice).

July 25, 2019. Embassy asked for my resume through an email. It was sent right away.
August 30, 2019- Montreal Embassy asked me for my Passport
Sept 3, 2019 -- Passport was sent to Consulate
Oct 23, 2019 -- Case status update to "Application Received"
Oct 25 2019- Case Status went back to "Administrative processing "

Still waiting for my passport/outcome from the consulate.

Any experts or  applicants of similar journey out there able to comment on this whether what is happening ?

YMMV

How was the interview? What did they focus on? What seemed to be the problem? Try to remember and the clues are within what questions were asked and how they asked in the interview

Yes it did. Also the dates as well. It says my case originated on Oct 23rd

It means the IV unit has sent your file to NIV for final processing

YMMV

Interview was decent. I was asked about how and when I came to Canada. Few questions about my job. I work in aerospace and interviewer was more interested in learning what I do on my day to day basis.

They asked for my resume with exact dates of my employment start/end.

I see. Hopefully some nicer outcome this time. Thanks for responding to my question

Sorry, I was confused because I read the part where you said they refused. That was just AP to submit your resume. Sounds like they approved. You should have your visa in a few days.

When the Embassy is ready to issue a visa, it will change to "Non-immigrant Visa Application"; at that time, you will know that you are a few days away from getting the visa. It will go from "Immigrant Visa Application" Administrative Processing to "Non-immigrant Visa Application" Administrative processing status and then your visa changes to "Ready" ==> "Administrative Processing" ==>> "Issued" status as well. These steps sometimes transpire over a day or even a few days. Some smaller Embassy's it happens within hours.

Sometimes, it might skip "Administrative Processing" and go from "Ready" to "Issued".
