Welcome Package after entering US

I have read that as soon as you enter US  a welcome package is sent to you.

I was wondering whether this is true and how soon after you enter US this welcome package is sent.

welcome letter and phamlet that tells you things you need to know in the US

like "men 18 to 25 need to register with selective service"  for example 

that is given out at embassy when interview is approved

I think something came with the actual green card .. months later .. but the information is more easily available online through USCIS
