Hello,

My fiancé has 2 marriages ended in dissolutions.  Do I need certified copies of both of these decrees?

For the petition,  you need to submit legible photocopies of certified documents

YMMV

Yes.  There may be a rather painless way for you to get certified copies. Since those kinds of documents are usually obtained locally. Many of the states have a department of vital stats/records, or something similarly named. Some counties have a clerk of the local court that serves the same purpose.  Do a Google search for the particular state and department. I needed such a dissolution document from Colorado. I was able to contact them online, and for a couple of bucks was able to order a certified copy of the document. I think I got several copies, because you never know when you will need such a document.  YMMV.

Good luck on your immigration journey.
