Hi! So I have applied for CR1 visa. We uploaded all the required documents. NVS took 25 days to review them and rejected the ‘marriage registration certificate’ that includes the certificate itself and Nikah nama both in english and urdu. The reason given was that a part of the document or text is missing in the scan. However I checked it multiple times and the documents are perfectly scanned. The whole document is there without any part being cut off or blurred or anything like that. I scanned these documents the same way I scanned other and they were accepted however this was rejected. I really dont know what different should I do while scanning the documents again since all the documents are already perfectly scanned and completely visible.

Has anyone else gone through the same? And how long do they take to review the replacement documents these days?

Did you save them as a jpeg or PDF? Sometimes if they are jpeg the document ends up in a different rotation/orientation.

It was pdf since it contained 3 documents. The orientation was fine too. We actually got it filed via an agent. That’s why Im unable to understand why would they reject a document for the scanning reason. The scan was perfect. No part was left out or missing. My husband trued calling the NVC right away but He couldn’t connect even after a wait of an hour.

Keep trying to call NVC to find out exactly what they want you to do.  It often takes much longer than an hour to get through.  Be persistent and patient and try calling at different times of the day.  Eventually you will be able to speak with a person and they will tell you what was wrong with the marriage certificate scan you uploaded, then you can fix the problem.  Don't rely on the "agent" to do it correctly, they often make mistakes and just slow the process down.  Do it yourself to make sure it is done right and accepted by NVC.  Good luck!

Update: So I we called NVC and the representative told us to uplod the same documents again if we think they are fine. We did so and in the comments section we explained that no part of the document is missing and we will show the sam documents in their original form at the time of the interview too. After about 4 weeks, I received the confirmation that the documents had been accepted and within next 5 days I was asked to get my medical done and Was given a date for the interview which is 21st of october.
