My fiancée received her K1 Visa and has just arrived in the U.S. We will get married in four weeks. How soon can we begin the “follow-to-join” process for our two daughters? Do we have to wait until she receives her Green Card or can we begin any aspect of the process sooner?

Thanks in advance for your experience and insight.

The day her k1 was issued and k2s must be issued within one year.   The concern would be traveling back to accompany them here .  Until she has advanced parole or green card she is stuck if she wants to return herself

YMMV

when you say "our 2 daugthers "   are they yours by birth?

if so,  they would be USC

Not necessarily. For example if OP is USC by birth but did not meet 5/2 requirement and kids born abroad.

Why add a digression rather than answer the origInal, clear and simple question - which is one year from issuance of k1.

My thanks to all of you for your quick response. The girls are from my fiancee's previous marriage. They were listed on all of the original visa documentation. We also indicated "will join later" on the DS-160. The ages are 13 and 20 (Note: I am aware of the under 21 guideline, hence the urgency).

I am attempting to prioritize next steps after the green card application. Must we wait until that process is complete before submitting the K2 application?

No.  If you wait for the green card to complete the 20 yr will age out and the k2 window will have closed.  As previously stated you can get going as soon as they are ready and hop to it on the 20 yr old
