DHL Packet Ciudad Juarez, now what?!

Hey Guys,

 

Stupid question, but it's bothering me so I need to ask.  My fiancé went to the DHL office and retrieved her packet. However, the sticker on the Actual DHL packet says to not open it or it would no longer be valid; the DHL gentlemen at the front desk also told her to not open the package?  My problem is that in order for her to enter the US she is going to need her passport, and I am aware that there is the sealed packet that she presents to the official at the US airport when we arrive, but she can't board a plane from Mexico to the US without her passport in the first place. But she is insisting that they told her to not open the DHL package (I honestly think they were referring to the sealed packet within the actual DHL package itself but she's not listening to me). I was under the impression that she needs to open the DHL packet to check her passport and visa to make sure all the information is correct before she travels to the US; but to also not open the sealed brown packet for the CBP official that will interview her at POE. What do I do?

DHL don’t issue visas or even work for the embassy so they don’t know what they are talking about. Follow the instructions from those who do. She needs to open the DHL mailing sack (plastic bag) to get her passport. Inside the sack will be another envelope that must not be opened. It is clearly marked as such.

Of course, she must take her passport out of the outer package.  The inner envelope (sealed and marked)  will be the one which should not be opened.

We were told the same thing.  They don't know what to do at DHL.   Open the DHL envelope and there you passport, a sheet about paying the green card fee and there is the "A" envelope in there that you do not open.

OR, you can take a razor blade and run it below the passport allowing it to drop out and what is left, a protected do no open envelope. Keep it safe within your carry on bag.
