Can I be hired with pending I 751

Hello folks,

i really need your thoughts on this.. my work place offered to hire me very soon. My concern is that I only got an extension letter since my I 751 is pending. Is it gonna a problem?  What if the Human Resources office is not familiar with this situation? What could be done? By the way I am a july 2018 filers.

Do you have a driver license or state ID? Do you also have an unrestricted social security card? If yes, present those documents to HR when filling out the I-9.

You've gotten good advice above.  Just be prepared to educate the people you encounter and have documentation at the ready.  As an example, when my husband went to the DMV, they originally didn't want to take his extension letter, but I had prepped a link to the DMV's own web documentation that listed it as an acceptable documentation.  It might take a bit longer, but don't worry, you'll get the document accepted.
