Currently in AoS proceedings. USCIS received my forms to apply for employment authorisation and also a travel permit on 18th March 2019 and shortly after that I completed my biometrics interview at a local service centre.

It's now officially been 3 months since they received my applications and sent me Notice Of Action. I'm just wondering if I'm meant to be doing anything other than waiting for them to send me a work permit/travel card? I can't even remember which field office/service center is processing me, but I know they all currently have backlogs in excess of the goverment's target of 90 days. Still, I'm hopeful I'll hear something soon but just wanted to check that there's nothing else I should be doing in the meantime in aid of helping this process along?

If you have a job offer in hand, you can try to expedite. Some people has success doing that

Everybody and their mother are trying to expedite everything (including probably a pizza ), this is likely due to the protracted processing times. How long do you think it will take for the expedite process to get bogged down in expedite requests, and end up with protracted processing times there too? The VJ Forums are currently full of expediters, makes me wonder what it looks like at the USCIS level????:help:

My current guesstimate is at least 6 to 8 months (or more). Check out VJ stats, and I suspect they are lagging behind USCIS stats.

They can always turn down expedite requests

Yep, since USCIS is so fond of revenue, they could also attach a fee to file the requests.....

I’m self employed so have plenty of offers I’m waiting to accept from US clients but I don’t think there’s any provision for expediting for freelancers....is there?

Haha thanks for remembering; we went for our honeymoon! Oahu and Maui; Had a great time. Almost made me glad there was a travel restriction that forced our hand with our decision!

Ugh 8 months would be really sucky, not to mention that I’m only 3 months into it...! Really hope it’s not that long.

I thought that I saw a posting last week sometime, I wanna say in the Immigration-Related Discussion Forum, indicating USCIS was increasing the EAD/AP processing times to 8 to 10 months  !!!..... Sorry, I can't find that thread....arghhh.......

Ugh, I hope not. They already lost us like 2-3 weeks when they returned my travel permit request telling me I hadn’t paid a fee...! And I had to show them my receipt of the fee from the other form that proved they had made a mistake,  but I bet they won’t factor that into my wait time and move me up the queue a little...
