Any recommendations for the best/most reliable apps to track USCIS progress throughout the AOS process?

Use the timeline here is the best.  There is no automated way to track USCIS.NVC/DOS!

There are a few apps in both iOS and Gogle Play app stores for tracking a case at USCIS. I believe there is one for Windows 10 as well.

There are no official apps. Keep this in mind as you are providing any information (i.e. USCIS receipt number).

They all fundamentally function the same way - they scrape the eGov USCIS Case Tracker website every so often and let you know if they see any changes.

 

Signup for electronic alerts (Email/SMS) on both the eGov USCIS Case Tracker (https://egov.uscis.gov/casestatus/landing.do) and myUSCIS (https://my.uscis.gov/) for official updates.

Note that these updates are a courtesy...they are not guaranteed to be accurate. The only official notice will be sent via USPS to the address on file.

 

Edit: Once the petition is approved and sent to NVC, you can track the status via CEAC. There are again no apps for this, and no automated emails or 3rd party apps that I am aware of to track status updates.
