Will Embassy ask for the exact original of the documents?

Hi! Will the Embassy ask for the exact original documents mailed to USCIS for I-130? Or shall they only ask for the originals uploaded oN CEAC?

I'm afraid i already lost the exact original of our marriage certificate that we mailed to USCIS. I have several originals of our MC, so I thought that's fine since it's an original document anyway. Apparently, a consul asked for the exact original uploaded.  From what I've read from a recent interviewee, she was asked for the exact original of the MC uploaded on CEAC. She initially presented exact originals of the docs she mailed to USCIS plus a different version of MC, which was different from what she uploaded on CEAC and mailed to USCIS. The consul asked if she brought the MC with a particular barcode at the bottom of the paper, referring to the one uploaded. Luckily, she also brought that one, which she uploaded and mailed to USCIS.

Now, Im not sure if the consul would ask for the exact originals of the documents mailed to USCIS. Or the exact originals of the documents uploaded on CEAC would be fine.

Yes the consular will demand the original of any documents submitted to the USCIS at the time for your visa processing interview date , so please if you know the marriage certificate can't be find , I advice you to go back where your marriage certificate was issue and clarify the problems for them to issue you a replacement.

However , if you didn't do it , it gonna be a very serious issue with the CO to believe your marriage is not a sham or fake because that original marriage certificate is very important to them at the time for your visa processing interview.

Yes, I have several originals of my marriage cert. However, they might ask for that particular MC mailed to USCIS. Each MC has different barcodes. I'm afraid they might ask for that particular MC with that certain barcode even if the ones I have are also original.

They will ask you only the exact submitted documents which was submitted to USCIS only as a reference , but not the one you did not includes in your processing documents to USCIS.

You need the PSA copy of your marriage certificate and the CENOMAR/CEMAR.     Along with an NBI with AKA for all names used.

As for documents you upload to CEAC, you will need to bring those original certified PSA copies to the interview as well.

They will not ask for a certain barcoded document. As long as the document meets their requirement whether it needs to be original or copy is fine. Read through the links Hank has posted. He is the resident "expert" for the Philippines Embassy and what their procedures are.

One NEVER gets the original as it is kept in the county recorders office. If people lost the "original",there would never be an official record of anything you have done. Go get an EXACT copy of the original. NOT A SCANNED COPY.
