Not really about vawa.

I'm paranoid, so I'll change some details.

I have 3 kids with my US born husband.

I became a USC in 2016 or 2017.

My kids ages are between 1-8.

We live with my MIL. I feel financially abused. Sometimes emotionally, too.

I ran to a neighboring house once. No shelter nearby had beds. I went back home.... I want to leave & take my kids with me this time

I finally got a part time job but cannot drive. He's never ever hit me... Makes me hesitate. We love each other deeply. He just doesn't want to move out from his Mom s house as it's convenient. Then MIL gets mad at me for not cleaning or watching kiddos enough. She has a point but I have to sleep during the day becausr I work night shift part time at a store

OMG this sounds so much like my story! Same thing happened. I lived with husband and MIL. She got mad at me for not cleaning. I worked nights.

Well. MIL ended up kicking me out after husband abandoned me and went to a different state. I lived in a hotel for a year. Not cheap. They had little kitchens in the room. I had my own car. So I was doing OK. I found an apartment later. I don't have kids with him. I divorced him and we are no longer in contact. I got married again and I'm happy now. No more abuse. He never hit me but he took my money and didn't work. He forbid me to use birth control. I wasn't allowed to buy a $7 burger menu with our joint account debit card. He threatened to deport me and not sign the I-751 if I don't quit my job and move States with him. He couldn't offer me health insurance because he never held a job. I'm chronically ill and need health insurance. Aaanyways...

Please be safe. For you and your children.

Make sure if you do leave and decide to divorce that you get a competent attorney and pursue child support. Some states make that easier than others...
