Same for AP... Why is this happening?

 

Would it have been faster to only do this i485 ? Maybe the applications wouldn't be sitting at the NBC and instead be on their way to our local field office for adjudication.

Lots and lots of applications, more interviews, higher scrutiny... Who knows. There's an inquiry going on right now.

EAD and AP are adjucated separately from the rest of the application, so it wouldn't change a thing. Plenty of people get the green card before they even had a chance to get EAD or AP.

Hmm the guy at the USCIS OFFICE made it sound like the NBC was holding on to the i485 until the EAD and AP were adjudicated. If they are separate why does the NBC still have the i485 and have not sent it to the Field office ?

Lots and lots of applications, more interviews, higher scrutiny... Who knows.

 

They review your underlying petition (I485, I130, what have you), before they send it to the local office, and before they adjucate EAD and AP. Those two are not related to each other, other than someone having to confirm that the underlying petition is in order.
