hi,

I have in the process of completing my visa however I just wanted to know if it was possible to change the date once the visa is issued.

Due to work and family committments I am looking to move to the US around March 2020 however I know I have 6 months to enter the US.

Whats the best advice to counter this situation? thanks

There is no way to change the expiration of the visa, which is 6 months from the date of the medical (not interview)

If the visa is unused before that date, then it expires and you have to start all over again. I would recommend simply drawing out the process by not attending the medical until later. The application will not expire until you have taken no action on it for 1 year.

Ok thanks guys - also when does the medical get booked and how?

Applicant books prior to interview at the authorized medical facility.  For UK it's knightsbridge

YMMV

For a London interview, there is only one clinic for visa medicals. Once NVC has finished your case, sent you an interview date, and sent the file to London, you call and make your own medical appointment.

Clinic: http://www.visamedicals.co.uk/us.htm

You either stall at NVC by not getting your documents to them immediately or....

Change your interview appointment if it has already been scheduled.

Note: the clinic no longer is called "Knightsbridge", nor is it in the Knightsbridge area of London.

Anyone know how long I can stall the interview for? I was hoping for around 4 to 8 weeks

You don't have a timeline so I don't know where you are in the process.

Don't start doing the DS-260 for a few weeks. Drag out how soon you get everything in to NVC...piece by piece. Your interview won't get scheduled by NVC until everything is in so slow down.

Dont.  Fill it out closer to when you want to immigrate.  You have a year from IV payment.
