Hello,

I am responding to an RFE ( after NOA1) and I am providing a few things that I assume need to be translated:

-some utility bills from when I lived in Brazil with my fiancee.

-some flight itinerary emails that were issue in Brazilian portuguese.

My lawyer says these do not need to be translated (I guess because they are simple and easy to figure out) but in the RFE, it says that every document in foreign language should be translated.

I am a little lost, what is recommended?

I can see where the lawyer is coming from but you only get one chance to reply.   I would not leave it to chance

YMMV

I wanted to post the outcome of my RFE for future reference and anyone consulting this thread.

We have been APPROVED. I translated everything I could. The 2 affidavits were translated by a professional I paid but everything else was translated by myself - and that was the bulk of the translations. Utility bills, travel itineraries etc... on each page I added a box saying I was competent enough to translate to English ( like directed in the forums, there is a model for that).

I guess no one needs to be afraid to translate anything themselves. I paid a professional to translate the affidavits because I wanted these to be more "formal" translations.
