HI everyone, we're doing adjustment of status from K1.  We sent our aos package and it was received on 03/21/2019.  Today, we got an appointment letter for a biometric appointment.  My question is:  what documents do we bring to the biometric appointment?

Thank you so much, everyone!

The letter they sent you. And identification document .. passport , driver’s licence etc.  If they need you to bring anything else it will be stated on the letter

Thanks for the quick reply!  We're a little confused because the letter said to bring a "driver license".  However, we do not have a driver license.  Is that ok not to have a driver license?

Thank you so much, everyone!

Take your national passport as ID.. that’s what they will be using the driver’s licence for

Oh ok got it!  By the way, how long should we expect the biometric appointment to last?  Is there anything else that we have to prepare for in regard to this biometric appointment?  (Sorry it is just that we are just very nervous 😬 )

Thank you so much, everyone!

Ok, who is having a biometrics appointment, the wife or the husband? If it’s the wife and she did a name change, then bring your marriage certificate. If the appointment letter is under her maiden name then she doesn’t have to bring the marriage certificate. Now if the appointment letter is in her new name then bring the marriage certificate.

Ok, then just her passport. The depending how many people is ahead of you when you get to the place, it could last from 10 minutes to 30 minutes. Don’t get nervous it’s an easy process.

Got it!  Oh one last thing,  should we go to the biometrics appointment together?

Thank you so much, everyone!

They may only allow the person named on the letter to go in ... or they may allow you to go in too .  It’s only a very short process.., just like having your fingerprints and photo done at point of entry.

She can go alone. But they will allow you to wait in the waiting area if you come.

Got it!  I only asked because she does not speak English.  🙏

Thank you so much, everyone!

It's so quick and simple. They are just going to take photo and fingerprints. Relax. This will be the easiest thing of the entire process.  We drove an hour and a half to our appointment and we were there 45 minutes total. 35 minutes in the waiting area.
