I see on the web site that humanitarian crisis in the beneficiarys country can be a reason to qualify to expedite the process... My fiance is from Nicaragua and I'm sure you have heard of the caravans of migrants coming from Nicaragua, el Salvador, Honduras, and Guatemala... I think it's worth a shot to at least ask... Worst case scenario... They say no... Has anyone has success with this situation? I'm also pregnant and I know that in itself isn't a reason but once the baby is here I will definitely be suffering a financial loss since I won't be able to work as much due to lack of childcare. Or I can work but childcare in southern CA is basically how much I'm going to be making at work so it doesn't really make sense. If my fiance was here, I could work as many hours as I normally do, while he was taking care of our baby. I know they seem both to be long shots, just trying to get someone else's opinion or previous experience. Thank you.

Here's a link about the situation in nica. It's old but the info is still relevant

You can always try. Like you said, they might just say no.

If you are going to request an expedite I would focus on the humanitarian reason, and not mention the pregnancy. Your lifestyle choice or poor time-planning are not reasons for an expedite. It costs nothing to ask, and the worst that can happen is they say no. I do know that people who have requested humanitarian expedites for fiancés in war zones such as Syria and Yemen have previously been rejected.

Pregnancy will not get you faster processing and I it would not rise to the level of a waiver.

Economic issues are NOT hardships.  Now if the pregnancy was considered high risk, or the baby/mother had underlying medical conditions, THAT would be a hardship.  Being poor is not.
