Freelance Work

Hi there! I have a quick question. I am the sponsor and I filed my taxes under "Freelance" last year. I am likely going to have my mother be my co-sponsor as I read that it's usually better for someone who works freelance. I do work as a camera assistant on short films, movies, etc. and I also freelance studio manager work. Should I list the companies I do this work for or should I just list "Freelance Camera Assistant" and "Freelance Studio Manager"? I also work for my mom and am registered through her company as an employee and will definitely be stating this too, but I am just curious about how I should write out my freelance work. Just to note, I have been doing camera assisting since 2016, but I only do a handful of shoots every year, so listing each individual job may be a bit complicated. And I have retail work experience to list as well. Sorry if this is a jumbled mess! Please help! :)

I think the issue is do you make the required income per year is probably what they are looking for. As long as your retail experience and freelance 1099 equal to or exceed the required amount, you should be ok.

As a note, there is no "required" amount per year. There's a minimum income level to be eligible. The CO makes a public charge decision based on the totality of the circumstances, not just minimums.
