Hello,

Do I need to send in original birth certificates for myself and my husband on I-485? I would rather send copies since we only have one official birth certificate from Morocco from my husband but will send the original if needed.

Thanks!

I believe the directions are copies of everything. That's what we did and we had no RFE and it has been sent to my field office. Take originals to the interview.

A careful read of the instructions indicates that all evidence is legible photocopies unless they SPECIFICALLY request an original or certified document.  No such specification for the BC

YMMV

Never send originals to the USCIS unless you don't want them back.
