AP is a normal process after the interview. Everyone goes through some time in AP because it’s a catch-all term for all the paperwork that gets done after the interview (final security checks, printing the visa, etc). The next stage after AP is “issued”. So AP covers everything between interview and issued.

It is possible, due to your location, that you will spend longer in AP than others. It all depends on what checks need to be completed and how long they take. Could be days, could be weeks, could be months, could be years. However, the fact that they kept your passport is a good sign.

I sent USEM an email stating I can only stay in Bahrain until 2nd week of Feb and plan to move to US end of Jan, I’m worried coz they kept my passport, they said they put my intended date of travel and hope it will be considered as the process is in Washington DC
