Took 18 years, shouldn't have taken that long.

This happened in my home town back in the day.  They should of had a public hanging weeks after the trail, lethal injection is too soft in my opinion, make them hurt on the way out, just like the family member of Aubrey had to do everyday

UNTSVILLE, Texas --

A member of the notorious "Texas 7" gang of escaped prisoners has been executed for the fatal shooting of a suburban Dallas police officer during a Christmas Eve robbery nearly 18 years ago.

Joseph Garcia received lethal injection Tuesday evening for the 2000 shooting death of Irving police Officer Aubrey Hawkins.

The 47-year-old Garcia was part of a group of seven inmates who broke out of a South Texas prison December 2000 and committed numerous robberies before being captured, including the one during which they killed Hawkins.

I aas agree to the extent it should not have taken 18 years. Very few probably  even remember who it is.

I dont agree it should be done in a few weeks, I do believe in a more thorough review.

After all  doubt is removed.  Hang them on the courthouse square

Sad to think that 2 of them have as of yet not met their maker, 18 years seems adequate time to have exhausted their appeals and to have been put to death
