Just got my interview date Jan 9th!!!

I got my NOA2 Oct 13.

I never technically received a packet 3. I had emailed them about somethings including what I could do next and the replied to none of the questions except the the last question. They told me to send packet 3 info in (Nov 30). I sent packet 3 on Dec 5th.

Then received an email on Dec 8th telling me to book.

I hope that is helpful!

Mine is on the 9th too!

I went ahead and emailed them Packet 3 on Saturday since our NOA2 dates are close to each other, got Packet 4 this morning and my interview is 1/16/2019! I still haven't received the actual Packet 3 yet, but I guess I got lucky?

Gettin on this train! :)

NOA2 Approved: 11/09

NVC Received by NVC: 12/11 (at least, today was the day I was emailed)

No case number yet - aside from gathering documentation, police cert etc., is there anything else we can do, other than wait for the embassy to send us the packet..?

I'm a 11/13 and have received 0 emails fro the NVC.  Ok, that's a lie; I received one a week after trying to update my email saying that my case wasn't there.

We called twice; once to confirm receipt (11/26) and once to confirm case # (12/10).

Long winded way of saying I suspect that you have a case number and their emailing sucks. :)

Just FYI update for folks tracking timelines: No official P3 received here yet. MTL received Nov 29; Case "Ready" Dec 10. I wonder if it will get dragged out past the holidays for them to officially send it lol. (We are waiting either way)

Okay, i have a few questions i need help with:

1) When do i complete and send in the ds-160? I am at NVC but no NVC case number yet. It appears all in need is the USCIS WAC case number, am i correct? Where do i pay? Do i need the NVC case number to do the ds-160 or just to pay?

2) On the ds-160 is the "national identification number" my sin card number?

You will need your case number to fill out your ds-160 it starts in ‘MTL....’. You can pay be credit card when you book your actual appointment later when you get ‘packet 4’(which is basically just an email telling you to book your apointment). National identification number is referring to an American one as far as I understood it. It was in the section about american ID as far as I remember.

I would send them an email if you haven’t already. I just inquired and they basically said ‘send you packet three info’. I got packet 4 a few days later and booked my apointment.

Excuse the excessive posting but does anyone know what kind of police check they want? Apparently there is more than one kind. :P

This is what i posted previously in another thread, hope it helps. The TWO police checks at issue are:

1) RCMP certified criminal records check with fingerprints - this is for people who HAVE A CRIMINAL RECORD and/or that were pardoned and have applied for for an immigration benefit. This is when they (RCMP/Commissionaires) select "for visa/immigration purposes". The outcome mailed to you DOES HAVE your fingerprint visible on the form. This form is sealed with RCMP certified insignia. The problem arose when you are asking RCMP to run certified criminal records check with fingerprintschecks on people without criminal records and have those handed over to USA officials as i gather that is against our current privacy laws and RCMP policy.

2) RCMP non certified criminal records check with fingerprints- this is for people who DO NOT HAVE A CRIMINAL RECORD and have applied for for an immigration benefit. This is when they (RCMP/Commissionaires) select "Privacy check" under the privacy act/Canadian law. The outcome mailed to you DOES NOT HAVE your fingerprint visible on the form due to Canadian privacy laws but your fingerprints have been checked against their biometrics databases. This form is not sealed with RCMP certified insignia. THIS is the form that will be required for k1 visa's.

I got both because by the time i unraveled all the facts i had already ordered the certified with fingerprints visible. I have now ordered another via the commissionaires via "privacy check".

Please note that we are also getting a "regular criminal records check" from a local municipal policing agency as well as the RCMP privacy check just to cover all potential bases and to have it for any future needs, jobs etc. That is also known as a "CPIC check". CPIC = "Canadian Police Information Centre"..

Request the Privacy Act one, that was what they wanted & accepted at my interview a couple weeks ago!

Wow the DS-160 is a pain in the be-hind. Yesterday was a fun day entering in 52 different U.S. visits with the site timing out every 5-10 minutes, on every browser, on two different computers 😂

Montreal received ours Dec 13, the next day CEAC changed to "Ready" so we emailed Packet3, turns out we sent too early. This morning we received this email:

Quote

Good Morning,

Please be advised that your fiancé (e) visa application is being processed in our office, you will be contacted with information on your next steps to take to continue processing your K-1 Fiancé Visa, as soon as our Visa Unit it ready to process your case.

In the meantime carefully note, do not send your Packet 3 documents till the Visa Unit advises you to do so, and you are not eligible at this time to book an appointment online until you receive further instructions.

Sincerely,

What are your experiences? I've read here that some don't even receive P3?
