i i tried looking through this site and a few others for answers to this, but the best i could find were from answers almost 2 years old or older, and only a couple of these answers made any real sense to me.

Do i need to put an address on the money order? it says to make it out to the US department of Homeland Security, but it does not say to put an address. in the case i would assume leave it blank, but a couple of posts i saw (which again, are old) said that we should put an address, and some people said to put the USCIS texas lockbox address for the address. is that correct? or should i simply put that it is for the US department of homeland security, my name, my address, and leave it at that?

You treat it just like a check.  The most important item is the PAYEE, the rest is optional

YMMV

But honestly, you can use a credit card now, so do that unless there's a very good reason not to.

You can or simply leave it blank as it is optional information

YMMV
