Husband is starting new job this week - what do I do with I-864

My spouse was employed January 1st till June 29th and made roughly $50k in that half a year. Unemployed from June 30th till November 26th (which is when he’ll be starting new job).

in the income do I put what he’d declare for 2018 tax return (old job plus a month and a little bit of new) or how much he’d make from his new job which is $48,500 yearly?

 

also, since I don’t want to wait for 6 months of paystubs - will letter from Walmart saying he got the new job and his salary + 3 year tax returns be enough?

tax transcripts, employment letter and paystubs from current job should do it

You put his current income as of the time you submit the I-864. This is not what he made last year, nor is it what he will make by the end of this year. It's how much he currently makes in a 12 month period.

he's gonna start his job next monday I don't want to wait 6 months for paystubs.

Thanks. Will a letter from employer and 3 year tax returns be enough? Without 6 months paystubs?

Six months of paystubs are not required.

You would list his current income, which is how much he will make in the next 12 month period.

 

I'll just note that the IO will make a decision on the public charge concern based on a totality of the circumstances. They may or may not consider the income reliable.
