Don't forget about your kohls cash to use for later.

Experience in Kohl's was beyond ghastly, as usual.

Maybe Mrs. T-B might like the diamond pendant and earrings they have on sale?

She'd probably lose them, but nice thought.

She still hasn't gotten my watch repaired, which was my ONE anniversary request.  No jewelry till then.

Expect to find out next week whether McAllen KMart is still there or quietly closed.

I grew up with KMart in Dallas area, and then WalMart got big and blew them out of here.

At one time Kmart had Pace Club which was the rival to Sam's Club in my area, they Kmart and Pace went bye bye.

Sam's Walton brother opened up a Buds in my area where he sold clearance and overstocked WalMart products, that lasted about 10 years.

At Lowe's, got:

-- thermostat (not too fancy)*

-- brackets to mount mongo-sized TV*

-- 50" ceiling fan*

-- LED candelabra bulbs

-- Spiderman nightlight that looks like it's cracking through the wall (for Mini-B.)

*on good or deep discount

Then, took visiting pal (World's Cheapest Gringo) to favorite resale shop.

Everything was half-price for Black Fri.

WCG found a Perry Ellis suit and paid $3.50.**

Do you live there?

I am taking a cruise for Christmas, going to DR and Turks/Caicos. Never been to either place, Hoping it nice and warm there.

No, just there for a day on business.  Depending on where you go (I'm usually in Santiago or Santo Domingo), you will be reminded of the PI.  Traffic, exhaust, dirt... very reminiscent of Manila, just with less traffic.

If you go to Santo Domingo, try to visit Zona Colonia.  Cheap museums there, and the home ot Christopher Columbus.  Exchange rate is very close to the PI.  50.51 pesos to the dollar yesterday.

We still have K-Mart in the FL Keys, probably because there is no Walmart here.

I won't go in there as the place is a dump inside.   Drove past it yesterday and it looks to still be open.

Yeah, it’s been a few years since I was in a super K-Mart.  I was amazed even then at how they kept their doors open with so little on the shelves.  Looked like Ferguson after the riots.
