  • One person has died after a man drove a car into Melbourne’s Bourke Street and attempted to stab people in a terrorist attack.
  • The attacker was shot by police at the scene and died in hospital.
  • Police said he and his family members were known to counter-terrorism.
  • Two other men were injured and are in hospital, though their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
  • The attacker had “barbecue-style gas cylinders” inside the car and set it alight.
  • The man had a minor offending history of drug, theft and driving offences, and lived in the north-western suburbs of Melbourne.
  • Police did not confirm reports that the attacker shouted “Allahu Akbar”.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

i have two LP tanks. No background checks.

Funny story.. I used to run a manufacturing operation, about 70 people. We had a big box truck, the biggest you could drive without a CDL.

One morning I came to work, and someone had stolen all 4 wheels and used forklift propane tanks as jack stands to support the truck.

Not sure if this tops that, but back in my firefighting days we were called to a mobile home Fire and they had a gas grill on the porch with a 20 lb tank.  While one of our rookies was pulling the line to start putting the wet stuff on the red stuff, the pressure relief on the tank let go.  Suffice it to say, there were no kinks in the hose off the truck as that rookie took off like a shot and pulled the hose two doors down.
