Hello community,

 

 

I am trying this before going to a lawyer or someone else...

 

I am from Canada, currently on a J-1 visa, that will expired at the end of November. I am an employee of Amazon and so I was wondering which steps do I need to do now to be able to come back in USA with another visa ?

 

Do you know anything about work permit that might be easier to get ?

TN is probably easiest.

So you want to continue working for Amazon? Then you need them to petition for you.

Whether you can be and/or they are able and wiling to petition you would be a conversation with your manager, HR, and/or their attorney (since they are the ones that will handle the petitioning side of things).

This would be for a work visa or COS to gain appropriate status within the US, as applicable. Almost certainly  a visa given the timeline.

 

No guarantees....work visas (or equivalent status in the US) are not easy to obtain and often have a pretty decent burden on the employer (financially and time-wise). Amazon is massive so they almost certainly have processes in place to handle this already and do so regularly.

True. But not zero options (H2-B?), even if only short-term. More options open up with a Bachelor's degree, though.
