Problems starting DS-260

I'm trying to do form DS-260, I'm entering our case number and then WAC number, but I'm getting this error message.

 

 

The selected Case Number and Invoice Identification Number combination you entered does not match our records. Please try again or contact the U.S. Embassy or Consulate where your case is being processed.

 

What to do now? Please help!

Yes, its for K-1. Trying to do the form but keep getting the same message that case number and the invoice numbers don't match.

I don't have any other numbers.

  1. K-1 uses the DS-160, not DS-260.
  2. You need the NVC case number, not the USCIS receipt number (WAC*). You need to call NVC once they get the petition and assign a case number...or wait for them to send the letter by mail.

DS-160? From the instructions that I've got they ask me to do DS-260.

K-1s are handled by the immigrant visa unit at the embassy but is a non-immigrant visa. IVs use a DS-260. NIVs use a DS-160.

Often the emails and such they send out from the IV unit are generic and templated for IVs only, not a K-1.

I did the form DS-160, it says that the next step is to setup an appointment. However, do I set appointment for Non immigrant visas or for Immigrant visa?

This is a question specific to your embassy/consulate. For many consulates, you can schedule your own via ustraveldocs.com, in which K-1 is listed under the Immigrant Visas section. However, I suggest looking at the Thailand portal and regional forum for specifics.
