Processing times

Does anyone know why when I check the processing time on uscis.gov it is like a month different than on the vj site help please which one is correct

The VJ processing times estimates are based only on the members here and relies on them updating their status and timelines, so it is a much smaller population to draw from for the estimates.  As to the USCIS estimates, I am not sure anyone is really certain how those are determined, or why some folks get processed well within the processing times and others drag out much longer.

USCIS should be more accurate.

Are USCIS processing times for each individual field office, from the time the application was received by USCIS, or from the time the field office received the application after it passed the first check at NBC or wherever it was? 

 

For example, if my office is showing 7-11 months, is that an average wait since I mailed my application, or is that how long I can expect to wait after my case becomes "ready to be scheduled for interview"?
