Average wait time

Good evening. I just had a few questions regarding terminology and wait times. My priority date is 05september17. In August I received a letter saying everything was accepted and that we were in queue for an interview. That was August 12. What is the average waiting time for an interview? Also what does CC mean? Is August 12 the day my case was closed? Thank you.

CC is case complete.  It is being sent to the consulate to set an interview.   Our notice to fill out the VISA and set an interview took about 6 weeks to receive from Juarez.  On the letter it said something like call the consulate if you haven't  heard within 4 weeks.

 

You can call the consulate to get your case number if you don't have it.

I have read that the case number is on the back of the check used to pay the fee.

Years ago, maybe.  But that was the USCIS case number.

 

DCF filers should bear in mind that their process goes quite differently from those whose petitions went through the National Visa Center.  If the OP has case complete, they've known their Cuidad Juarez case number for quite some time.
