Success Rate for Requesting Earlier Interview Date

Hello Everyone,

 

I read on the 'Case Complete to Interview November 2018' thread that you can possible attempt to email the consulate/embassy that your interview is at and try to see if you can get an earlier interview date that the one already provided if you have already completed your medical and have all you documents ready to go.

 

For clarification I am not requesting info regarding expediting your case, but more along the lines of rescheduling your interview date to an earlier available date if doable.

 

Has anyone had any luck with this before? I figured I can try, but is it really worth it. My personal consulate is the Mumbai location.

My thinking is when they scheduled your interview,  you got the first available spot

Hey 

 

I was planning to do the same but was advised otherwise.

Reason being the same, that you get the first available slot.

Also this shouldn't affect your current standing in the line-up. As in they might get back saying, if they have last minute cancellations or sudden vacant spot, they will get back to you. 

 

However, I believe you can give it a try or take legal advice prior to getting into this.

Once we got out appointment we were able to check daily for closer in appointments.   Our original date was Dec 27 but we were able to move it up to September 25 within two weeks.
