Yeah, they like doing biometrics, right? They seem to do them whenever you show up.  haa haa

Yeah, did the bio for the ROC. Still, have to do 'em again for N-400.

They did them twice for N-400, like I mentioned earlier.

 

Yeah, talk about fast! N-400 is nothing like ROC. ROC takes forever and moves SO SLOW.

N-400 is like - "Here...do this.... do that... see ya next month!!!"

 

So, don't sweat it...just let them do what they do.

It will be over soon enough.

 

Tampa seems to be very busy. They have an oath ceremony on Feb 13th and March 6th. Said forget about the 13th, and MAYBE the first or second one in March.

My IO was very friendly. Just be cordial up front, and they can warm up to you. We were cracking jokes at the end as we walked back to the waiting area.

We actually got our green card BEFORE we got the letter telling us that we were approved for the green card!!!

The card arrived first, and the letter arrived second. So...hee hee

 

Took just a couple of days for the green card to get to us, based on the date specified on the letter.

 

So, SOON for your daughter. No worries.

Sorry for these too many questions. Lol!, did you go as a couple or one can appear alone without spouse at interview? Please let me know. Thanks and congratulations oncemore

We went together. Spouse waited in the waiting room. Since we had the green card already, when it was time for the interview the IO did not ask the spouse to join.

Which is exactly what we expected.

 

We sat up front, and we both approached the IO when called. And we both introduced ourselves to the IO, on purpose - to show full support.

 

We also took all documents from CR1--->ROC--->N-400,  to be ready for ANYTHING. And the IO did not ask to see any of the earlier documents.

It was over in 15 mins or so. Very cordially done, very efficiently done.

 

Now, as to the rules, yes one can appear without the spouse if it is not a combo interview (ROC + N-400), and if they did not ask you to bring your spouse.

 

But, there was NO WAY we were not going together, and making it clear that WE WERE TOGETHER.

 

As people finished and left, we moved to be on the first row right in front of the IO door.

In fact, when the IO came to call us, she just smiled and gestured at us, and we approached her. So, she knew exactly who we were, and did not even have to call our names.  And there were plenty of people still there, so, she must have already read the file and knew what we looked like. She was very, very cordial to us. Graciously so. And we were likewise to her.

Plenty of people came to Tampa USCIS alone that day, and were approved.

 

A guy from Hungary, three young ladies (Hispanic and Asian), a guy from the Dominican Republic. All got approved. We did THUMBS UP when they left and chatted. Lots of smiles all round.

Some people clearly brought lawyers. 

Some brought their kids, who were playing on the floor with their toy cars.

 

So, you do not HAVE to bring your spouse, necessarily.

 

But, WE went together...because we could and wanted to. 

But my spouse did not get invited to be there during the actual interview.  There was no need. 

 

The IO looked at my spouse and said - "Okay, so if you just let me borrow her for a few minutes, I promise to return her to you."  smile...We had a GREAT IO!
