Good day everyone.

My wife is scheduled for an interview on 25 September 2018.

I know originals of civil documents are required at the interview.  Can anyone tell me if a court certified copy of a divorce decree is sufficient, as that is all I was provided at the time of the divorce.

Thank you for your help.

Kind regards,

Chris

court certified divorcee decree is considered as an original (should have a raised stamp on it most often). courts ALWAYS keep the real original. I have heard of one case where for whatever reason the certified copy wasn't 'good enough' and the petitioners congressman got involved and obtained the actual original for them.

An actual certified copy rather than a photocopy of a certified copy is what they are looking for.  The "original" is a government document.

Hi, that's what I submitted.

Do you have 3 years back tax transcripts with you? (That was what I was given AP for)

They mostly look for the true evidence to prove your close relationship, bonds with relatives. Hope she has some pic album set for her interview you together and with relatives/friends. Western Union money transfer receipts are very helpful. In Sri Lanka, they asked me about 45 questions. Sometimes, same question twice. My hubby came to the interview with me that was a plus point I guessed.  They asked what was the last time he visited me and I said he is now here, outside waiting. Earlier he wrote and got their permission to enter the embassy accompanied by me for my interview. They sent him a written permission and asked to bring it printed.

ROC Process:

Submitted I-751: August 4, 2018

Received by California ofis : August 6, 2018

NOA1 date : August 29, 2018

Biometrics date : March 29, 2019

Hey Tommal,

Thanks for the information.

I have sent my I-864 along with three years of tax transcripts, and W-2's.  I will have my wife print out our WU receipts as well.

I hadn't planned on attending, as it says very specifically that no one is allowed to accompany her to the interview.  She has a picture album, along with our chat history from Viber.

They will ask about you and your kids (if any) where they live, how old are them, how old are you, specially ask her to keep in mind all the important days in life of you together.  Good luck guys!
