Question on CFO Seminar

Hello! I am waiting for NVC Complete Review/Interview Schedule and would like to prepare for CFO. I see from other threads that most take the CFO seminar and just come back for the sticker once the visa is available.

 

Is it hard to find slot for CFO seminar or is it possible to just have it once the visa is available and have the sticker on the same day (provided that I have all the documents needed with me).

 

Is there also other seminar/sticker I got to have such as PDOS or the like or I only have to take CFO?  Thanks so much.

Spouse & K-1 of USC attend GCP seminar at CFO.

 

You can hope someone who recently scheduled posts their experience with openings for the GCP seminar.  Most times I hear it is at least a few weeks out for an opening, which is why many complete it early?

 

You did not attend to change your name in your passport at DFA?

Thanks Hank for clearing what kind of CFO seminar to take   I'm already using my married name in my passport.  I hope to hear from someone who already done the seminar and got the sticker the same day, if that's really possible/

 

Soooo out of curiosity, I checked the CFO scheduling and seems like you can already set an appointment until Dec.  In my case, I'm eyeing Oct/Nov slot.

You are already using your married name in your passport, then you attended CFO earlier as DFA requires a copy of the CFO certificate.    Don't need to attend a 2nd time.

 

Did you keep the certificate?

nope. I just presented a PSA Marriage Cert in DFA, I was not asked for CFO.

Really !?     That is interesting.    Wonder when DFA changed that..

 

As for completing the seminar and getting the sticker - as long as you have your passport with visa at the seminar, that is easily done the same day  (My wife did both the same day)
