So...has anyone been placed on Administrative Review in the embassy in the Dominican Republic?

 

If so, how long was the wait before receiving update in status?

There is lots of people experience administrative review/processing. The time waiting is vary. No one can give you the exact answer. Did you get any paper after the interview? What is stated on that paper?

We were given a paper that said to submit the birth certificates for the children for processing upon which the visa will be processed.

Our status is Administrative Processing.

 

It's a little irritating to have the i's dotted and t's crossed and still something be thrown at you out of thin air.

When did you submitted the paper and when they receive it?

We mailed the afternoon of the interview (7/9). The embassy received the documents the next day (7/10).

 

The case was updated 07/16 and 07/18 (no status change).

Just wait for a week-2 week. If there is no update, you can try contact your embassy

We are in week 3. I sent an email to the embassy and they sent me a prewritten response. They didn't look in the case because the last updated  date did not change.

I'll give it another week to send another inquiry.

Are you doing K2(s)? If so, did you provide the BC(s) in the initial file? Unfortunately, AP is indefinite. There is not set time period that they have to get out of AP. But if you provided all the requested info then it should not take long.

We did not submit k2s

We provided the documents the same day of the interview... later that evening

I talked with the NVC this morning. In which, I was told that the NVC should not have created cases for them since K2 visa petitions were not submitted.

An additional spend of $1k and 3 weeks later, I am instructed to send an email/letter to embassy explaining error of NVC and send request to remove the children and issue visa.

 

I was also told a letter requesting further proof that he is their father was sent last week. The birth certificate with his id # wasn't enough? Good gracious people!

Praise God!!! Our visa was issued today!!!

So thankful!!! I am excited to have him here to help finish our wedding planning!!!

Our case has been stuck on Administrative Processing since last status change on October 30.  Missing documents submitted on October 24.  Anyone else in the same situation?

Everyone goes through AP. It's part of the process. See the explanation in the link above as I think you missed this when you forgot to read the entire thread.

Actually I did.  Is just that I need to know if specifically from the Santo Domingo Consulate there has been an increase.  Since it is a birth certificate is actually a French one and Guadeloupe being part of France I fear someone over there may be confused.
