Will using a Non-geometric passport to enter US cause him to be denied entry?

We just waited a month to receive my fiance's passport and he mentioned last night that it is not a biometric passport. He had an option and chose the five-year cheaper non biometric passport instead of the 10-year more expensive biometric passport which contains the chip or maybe fingerprints, etc. I didn't know that there was an option. Is this going to cause him to be denied entry by US Customs at the border?

If he has visa, I do not think it is problem. Biometric passport is more for the European countries where you are now allowed to travel between approved countries with no visa if you have biometric passport

Thanks, he hasn't been to the interview yet. So, if he takes that non biometric passport to the interview they will put the VISA in it? We can't afford him to be denied. He has to fly from Siberia for the interview.

Hey, I also got just cheapest 5 year non-biometric passport and got my IR-1 spouse visa in it in 2016. Crossed border with no problem. Now it`s expired and Russian citizens have to go to closest Russian Embassy in person to apply for a new one, so I applied for 10-year biometric passport in Washington. No big deal. It`ll be alright!

USCIS:

6/11/2015: Filed I-130 petition

6/13/2015: Delivered to Chicago Lockbox

6/15/2015: Petition is accepted by USCIS (California)

6/17/2015: NOA1 received via email/text

6/23/2015: NOA1 received via mail

8/18/2015: USCIS approved petition online - 63 days from NOA 1

8/22/2015: NOA2 received via mail

NVC:

9/8/2015: NVC received the case

9/22/2015: got case number and invoice number via phone

9/22/2015: submitted DS-261 Choice of agent

9/22/2015: paid AOS fee $120 - IN PROCESS

9/24/2015: AOS fee shows PAID

9/28/2015: NVC Welcome Letter is received (issued on Sept 21st)
