Anyone get their medicals in Houston?

 

What to expect? approximated cost? any location that can recommend to me? 

 

I am a AOS filler and just receive a courtesy letter regarding my medical, I didn't send it with the Original submission of my AOS package because was scared about expiration of the medicals.

Remember you need to bring along your immunization record with you.

If you lost the record or got a not updated record just like me, you probably need to get a tDap vaccine and a blood test.

 

I did mine in Montana, it cost $320. 

 

My test just took like 30mins, they took a look of my not updated immunization record, then said because some info is missing there so I need to get a vaccine and a blood test. After that the doctor will come in and asked you some questions, then some usual checking (listen to your lung sounds stuff like that).

After all checking the Dr will ask you sign on the I-693. Then its done. (I didn't get the report with me becos they said they need to see my blood test result to see if i need to get more vaccine)

One day after they called me said I need to get one more vaccine becos the immunity level is not high enough. The next day i went to a health care centre and get the vaccine ($21 only), then fax the report to the clinic, two days later i received my sealed I-693 by mail (they also sent me a copy of the report for reference)

@PollyC that's crazy. Here in NYC it costs about $200.

 

@JoAndLo shop around, different doctor offices may have different prices. Call them to find out how much it will cost. I called about 10 offices in order to find the cheapest in my area.

That is a good idea! will be better to call and know how much will be. I am just getting ready for that time to come (will be when I know my Interview date, because I don't want them to expire and cost me more money)

Yea, defo call different doctor if there are a few near you. I called another clinic which is like 3 hours drive from my city it's like $100 cheaper.

But we decided to save some time go for the near one (which is also in another city - still need 1.5hours driving) 😐

There are a lot of them in Houston, especially those around the Medical Center.

USCIS has a map, you can look them up, make a call.

I had my medical in Michigan..I paid $255 plus $19 for 2 vaccinations at the healy

th centre. The medical was very straight forward. I had a TB skin test, blood test, they took a urine sample and a physical exam with the doctor. I went back 2 days later and then checked the skin test was negative then gave me the sealed envelope and a copy for myself. It was all very straightforward.
