I went to Attorney for consultation to ask questions about the N-400 and review the form with her and if there is anything need to be fixed and she answered my questions but she asked me about some details and then she offered  that she can come to the interview for free but I have to  sign G-28 which is odd ?and then she asked me to give her my GC and passport and she made a copy of my application N-400 ,GC and passport(I should not let her take copy of my documents) which is odd!! and why Attorney will offer free service (just to come to the interview for free )and even she is not a friend(first time I met her and I just paid for consultation and she has more than 16 years experience )  so I'm wondering if some one had same experience with Attorney like that ?should I ask her to cancel the G-28 that I signed with her and ask her to give me all the copy documents that she has?I don't have anything that need Attorney ,I just went to her to ask questions about the n-400 and verify if every thing is correct in the form that is so odd??? what should I do?

`If you did not sign any contract with that attorney you can get back all your documents. Just tell him/her that you are thankful for the free service he/she will give you on your interview date. Tell him/her that you are comfortable to do it by yourself.

like you added an attorney, you can remove your attorney also. I forgot how and which form that is. Look it up in USCIS.gov

https://www.uscis.gov/forms/filing-your-form-g-28 the link states that you need to notify them by letter that you do not want to proceed with legal representative

Thanks EireneFaith ,Alabamak1 for your reply but I'm still wondering why she made copy for all my documents? is that what the immigration Attorneys do?  I believe she offer free service to come to the interview(which is cost 500$)  to let me sign the G-28 and to make copy for all my documents? the question in my head is why why why?

i am clueless about this having to want a copy of your documents. Usually when using an attorney, they return any copies done to your case after the case is over. They do not retain anything concerning the case, since this is your case and not something public like a DUI or assault or something of that nature. I used one for my naturalization and all documentation was returned to me after the case was over.  Good luck, and hope everything goes well.
