I'm so sad and depress because sometimes life is not fear, we are here trying to make the imposible to be with the person that we really love and it is so difficult for all of us to do it, our live and future just depend on others. USCIS, NVC.

My I130 was approved last week but I'm can't be happy about it just because now for me to get an interview from the embassy in the Domonican Republic I have to wait 2 years, can't beleive it.

I know that now the NVC is scheduling the appt from here, but from what I heard there is not different at all, last week I was happy because I thought that since the NVC was scheduking the interview appt I was going to have the interview by AUG OR SEPT, I guess I was wrong because now I have to wait more to get an interview than to be approve, I been crying all day because I can't take this anymore and I know that you guys understand me because most of us are in the same position, I wish it could be somthing that we could do about this.

We want to bring our love ones into the country with legal status and it is so difficult, but for those that enter the country illegal it is easy because I know a lot of people that does that and they enter the country like nothing just because they have money this is not a fear world.

Your right it is not fair, and yes it is hard. I miss my fiance alot also. I have not seen him in 15 months. Everytime we talk on the phone we end up crying often. We try to do what we can to keep our mins sane. But no matter what you do it still is hard being away from somone that you love so much. I pray so much, and i surround myself with his pictures, and we talk just about everyday. I can't wait to be with him again. I don't even care to have a big wedding i am more anxious just to start our lives together. But one thing i know is true is that god will not give you more than what you can handle, and everything comes to an end. As this proces makes you weak in some ways in other ways it makes you stronger. We will make it love conquers all. I wish you both all the best and i pray that god gives you and all of us waiting patience. and bring our loved ones home to us soon (F)

for me to get an interview from the embassy in the Domonican Republic I have to wait 2 years, can't beleive it.

I am so sorry, that is just awful! Why do you have to wait so long? Is it because they are backed up or something?

but for those that enter the country illegal it is easy

It might be easy, but those who enter the border and actually cross it and not get caught, they will suffer the consequences in the long run. I met my husband (was my boyfriend/fiancé then) and he had crossed the border illegally. We fell in love, in July 2005 ICE arrested him, and in October he was sent back to Honduras. He now looks back on his decision to come to the states illegally and really regrets it. The Immigration officers told him that he was not being deported and that they were going to treat it as a voluntary departure. Could that work in our favor? I'm hoping so, but I honestly believe we will need a waiver, and God knows how long that will take. :crying:

Sorry this is so long, but I'm just trying to let you know that I do feel for you and I believe that the U.S. needs to fix the government when it comes to Immigration issues. Being separated from our loved ones for this long is completely ridiculous and an outrage!

You are definitely in my prayers as well.

for me to get an interview from the embassy in the Domonican Republic I have to wait 2 years, can't beleive it.

Unfortunately that's how long the wait is in DR for a spousal interview. It's only one year in Mexico. Hopefully changes will be made in the near future to cut down on wait times. Other countries are much, much faster.

The Immigration officers told him that he was not being deported and that they were going to treat it as a voluntary departure. Could that work in our favor? I'm hoping so, but I honestly believe we will need a waiver, and God knows how long that will take. :crying:

Meg, voluntary departure is much better than official deportation. However since he was illegally present and since he was arrested, he will need a waiver. The good news is that it's 6-8 months for waivers there (it could be much worse) and of course the fact that he's eligible for a waiver at all.

They play with people lives and future because they just don't care at all. And also they have never been in love or been in a situation like us.

More likely the consulate is unable to get authorization to hire more staff. If "they" didn't care at all, there wouldn't be a legal process available for foreign spouses to immigrate.

In the meantime, perhaps your husband can arrange a visit?

Hang in there.

Yes, I do agree that voluntary departure is much better. I thought maybe it was a blessing in disguise that Immigration treated it that way instead of a deportation. My husband told me that the day before he was sent back to Honduras, the "friends" he had made in the detention center received papers saying "You are deported for 5, 10 or 20 years". My husband became concerned because his name was not called for one of those papers. Finally his name was eventually called and he asked the ICE officer "For how many years will I be deported for?" He responded while looking at his file on the computer and in front of him: "Oh you're not being deported. You'll be able to come back in 6 months because we gave you voluntary departure." This still seems weird to me though because I didn't know that Immigration could do that.

And like you said about the other good news. It's only 6-8 months and he is eligible for a waiver thank God. Him and I discussed it tonight that it will be hard but we will get through it, just like everyone else on here has/will.

As hard as the Immigration process is, I truly believe that it makes us all stronger in the end (like aj1 said). :)

Well that part is not correct of course. But since he wasn't deported he doesn't need a 212 waiver for deportation - only a 601 for illegal presence (assuming he was in the country illegally for more than 180 days).

Good luck.

Oh yes, I know unfortunately that part about the "6 months" is not true. :( Yes, we will need that 601 because he was illegally in the country for more than 180 days.

Thank you for the luck! We will surely need it! :)
