Hi everyone,

My permanent GC is currently pending approval.

I wanted to know if I marry a foreign spouse then typically how long do I need to wait for Form I-130 to be approved?

After that when I file I-485 how long do I need to wait for the temp green card approval?

Can someone give me a typical timeline that I can expect for the whole process?.

I130 is Cr1 and takes between 12-14 if everything goes smoothly!

Adjustment of Status is not needed if your spouse comes to the US on a CR1 visa!

What status is your SO on in the US.

About 2 years.

Then no problems, he can move anytime.

Apologies for the typo.

My permanent GC is pending approval and the person I will be marrying is a UK citizen.

I wanted to know what is the timeline I will be looking at from the time of applying for I-130 to its approval and then I-485 to getting the temporary Green Card.

So the UkC is in the US, on what basis?

LPR spouses generally cannot adjust status because overstay is not forgiven.

He is in the UK not in US. He might visit on a visit visa

So a couple of years and no adjustment.
