Just relax, u r almost there. The sooner you send it, the sooner you receive your passport.. you r already approved, that's what matters. U may get it even before the estimated 3-5 business days.

I know in the long run it's not a big deal. But I feel like this is an unnecessary additional step they are making us go through. The thing that bothers me the most is I feel like they robbed us of having our "we're approved" moment. "We're sort of approved" is not an exciting feeling...and it just sucks that we didn't get to have that. We'll upload everything tomorrow...I just didn't want to have to go through all the bs of scanning, resizing & uploading. I was hoping to relax & celebrate this weekend. I'm just disappointed because this is unnecessary...but I'll get over it lol, I just needed to vent haha

Yaaayyy!!! I got approved this morning at LAGOS embassy.

It went very well. The only "but" was the waiting time, got there at 6:20am for a 6:30am interview, went through all the security checks, biometrics, etc. And had my interview at about 8:30am.. the interview by itself wasn't up to 5 mins.

I took the oath.. Questions asked-

How long was your husband in Nigeria before he went back?

When did u guys meet?

How did u meet and where?

Has he been married before?

So he divorced his wife in Nigeria?

Have u ever been married?

What does ur husband do?

When did u get married?

Do u have any photos of your wedding?

(I brought out the album and she asked me to open it and flip through, I flipped just about 3 pages, she asked who were in the photos, asked if we were married in church and if we had a traditional marriage)

Your visa has been approved!!

Make sure u pay the green card fee before u travel, read about your rights in the US, pick up your passport when it's ready.

I'm so happy this journey is finally over.. thanks to you all at vj for being a great support system.. and good luck to everyone else still waiting.

Wow !! Big congratulations to you 🍾🍾

My wife (USC), son (USC) and I (Canadian) currently live in Canada and are visiting the US briefly as we have done throughout this entire process without any issue. I have an IR-1 interview scheduled for next month and yesterday was the first time that I was ever asked by CBP about my pending green card application. The agent basically just wanted to know where I was in the process. I told her that I have an interview scheduled for next month in Montreal and she was satisfied with my response. She then asked if I was seeking “to be paroled or anything like that” and I said “not on this visit, no”. We were actually referred to secondary briefly but it was for a completely random  and unrelated vehicle search and my status did not come up again.

I am curious about the parole question... Was the officer basically giving me the option to be admitted to the US indefinitely before completion of my green card process? Has anyone had a similar experience? I have never heard of CBP parole before.

My husband brought mine & our sponsors 2017 returns, 1099s (I don't get W-2) & pension/social security statements. They took them...then at the end of the interview they handed them back & said we need to upload them to CEAC...then email them afterwards. Once they see that's done, they'll process his visa. Why didn't they tell us a month ago to upload them??!! But other people don't get asked to provide any tax info at all at the interview...so they might want it, they might not. Inconsistent as always lol

so u didnt intially upload 2017 since u hadnt filed at that time and u took them to interview but they needed for u to upload them. if thats the case then i think thats really specific situation and they should be ok with u giving it to them but maybe those people are picky and decided to cause issue...

I had filed but my parents (our sponsor) hadn't since it was end of March. My parents filed around April 7th I believe. It's just annoying because no where on the list of what to bring to the interview does it mention taxes...only a copy of I-864 is required. I had my husband bring them just in case. They also could've requested this weeks ago...to upload. I think it's a specific situation too...although I'm not sure why...it's not like my parents income has been inconsistent...they've made the same income for over 10 years!! I don't know...this whole process is inconsistent from one person to the next!
