Hi All,

I submitted my I-485, 765 and 131 in February and received my NOA 1 for all of them on the 20th of March. Received letter for Biometrics on the 23rd of March and completed them on the 11th of April.

How long are we expecting it to take to receive EAD. I keep getting offers of employment but have to keep turning them down. Any advice/experience with this.

Only so long I can live with the In-Laws :P

Well one without a work permit really no point in looking for jobs; but, that being said.. it could be 3-4 months from NOA1 for the EAD/AP combo card, but if you do have a job offer you can take that and ask for an expedite of your work permit. You just have to show the proof of the offer.

Prepare for a long wait. My EAD took 6 months. It could go faster for you, but I also know people who have had to wait even longer than I did.

If you get a serious job offer, and the employer is willing to write a job offer letter and hold the position for you, you can try to expedite your EAD. But even expediting takes a while. My expedite process took 6 weeks, and I am still not sure if it was the expedite request that caused my EAD approval, the congressional inquiry by the Senator's Office, or whether it was just finally time to look at my case.

Most EADs are taking in the 3-4 month range, but some are taking 6 months.

If you get a job offer, you can request an expedite. Whether or not you get - and how fast it happens if so - is a bit up in the air at this time, but it is an option.

Hi!

Congrats on the job offers! you sound like you have alot going for you!!!

Some employers may wait for your EAD but in this case not so much. you may not see an EAD for 4 to 5 months at the rate things are going right now.

I just got my approval and its been 4 months! i filed December 13 did my biometrics January 12 and got the alert they are printing me card April 11 12 and approval April 13 today !

However there are some one offs. my friend got her ead in 2 months and green card in 4. so you can never be too sure.

I would aim for 4-6 months on average.

Good luck!!
