Our petition is in transit to Manilla embassy. Can we already pay mrv fee, complete ds160 , and schedule interview? Or do we have to wait for NVC letter of confirmation that case is ready for interview? worried that it will delay everything. thank you

Do you have your MNL # ?   If not you can call or email to get that information without waiting for the NVC letter.   Once you have the MNL# it is ROCK n ROLL time!

Hank isn't kidding.  We went 7 days from getting the number assigned to having everything paid half the medical complete (due to SLEC being closed for Holy Week) and interview scheduled.

There were two couples a few months back both finished their interviews within 2 weeks of having their MNL# .   With one I was a little concerned the case file wouldn't be there ... but it was.

Thank you for your replies! Does fiance have to get cenomar for both of us or just my fiance in the philippines? And will she need police clearance from USA she was here for more than 6 months?

A CENOMAR is also required for a petitioner who was born in the Philippines and lived in the country for at least one (1) year upon reaching the age of 18.

CENOMAR is listed for the beneficiary.   And yes, she will need a police clearance from the USA.

Follow the embassy instructions letter, for the moment it is better, along with the new online checklist.   Both are listed in the link below, along with the rest of the process.

I’ve never heard of any beneficiary needing a US police certificate.

From who?  Local governments?  County?  State?  FBI?  I’ve never heard that was needed.

Don't know on that.  But the USA is a foreign country in regards to the Philippines.  I will check this out some and get back.'

I'm, back!  >>

I would say NOTHING is needed from the USA as I get an almost blank page regarding the police clearance.    Make sense, but this is the U.S. government so what is logical may not be reality ..

Just the same NO police clearance is needed

UPDATED info!

You do not need to obtain a police clearance from the USA.  The DOS website is blank regarding instructions, which makes sense.
