Hello everyone! Had a question.

I looked at the I-134 and in Part 1, Item 11.b on page 1, it asks about 'Citizenship or Residency or Status'. I got my citizenship as a child through my parents who went through the naturalized process. However, I do not have  'Certificate of Citizenship.'  Is my US passport enough to prove citizenship for this form or do I need to apply for a certificate?  That process (USCIS form N-600) could take months and will heavily delay the visa process.

A valid US passport that doesn't state you're a US national serves as proof of US citizenship.

A US passport is one of the identity documents that prove citizenship.  If you were not a citizen then you would not be in possession of a US passport

YMMV

US passports are also issued to US nationals, which is why I always state the proviso that the passport must not state that the bearer is a US national. Then it is prima facie evidence of US citizenship.

hi, we had the same problem but ours was when we applied for i-129f, my fiance got his citizenship as well as through naturalization and it was being ask in the the i129f but what we do to get his naturalization number  he scheduled himself in uscis and ask them directly his naturalization number, year and the place  lucky for him the uscis give it to him and then we applied for i129f, we eventually approved without taking the form (N-6oo) that would takes months to get it,... now in i134 it was asked again but this time no difficulty since we know it.. my thoughts for you is to get an appointment ask them directly  your naturalization number..it works for us eventually it will work for you..

Why suggest somebody go through this hassle unneededly?

By law, a valid unexpired unannotated U.S. passport (or passport card) is conclusive (and not just prima facie) proof of U.S. citizenship, and has the same force and effect as proof of United States citizenship as certificates of naturalization or of citizenship.

YMMV

hi, a valid passport as a proof of citizenship nobody questions that did I?, see and read what he meant.. if you seen the i134 page 1, 11a it ask there the certificate of naturalization number and the same time also in 129f.. so if you been through that process you have to provide your certificate of naturalization since in our case we have the same problem before..so if i suggest something that is still up to him if he will do it or not..

I have been through the process and if you don't have a certificate of naturalization (because you never applied for it) you cannot provide it.  In that situation your response would be N/A.

YMMV
