ROM - What is a "marriage record"?

hello good people of the philippines forum, anybody out there who recently did a report of marriage (ROM)?

 

i am reading the list of documents to submit and one requirement is something called "Marriage Record".

1. One (1) original or certified true copy and four (4) photocopies of the Marriage Record (original will be returned)

 

what is a Marriage Record? is this different from a  marriage license / marriage certificate? because i only have those.

It's the same thing as a photocopy of your marriage license.

ok thank you. i am confused because item 1 in their list is "marriage record" and then item 2, is "marriage license / contract".

It is very easy to get confused doing the ROM. You are in VA now or the UAE?

in VA now. got married here last October, but been lazy to do the ROM but i realized i cannot put it off any longer.

Me and my wife just sent ours in in February, we only had our marriage license issued from the State of WA and it was accepted and it took less then 3 weeks to get it back.

thanks for the info. what exactly do you get back? is it like a certificate kind of doc issued by the PSA, similar to a birth certificate?

They sent me all the original copies that they asked for, and one copy of the ROM with all the things requested. If you look at the bottom of the form there is a space for official records only, they filled that out and put their stamp on it. It is an official copy until we go to the Philippines (PSA office I believe?) and request one from them. It does say it takes approximately 6 months before it will be processed. We also sent a Report of Birth as our first child was born in December (yeah we didn't waste any time, haha!). 

From what I have read on Visa Journey when you go to the PSA office in the Philippines and a request a copy it's basically the exact document that you sent but on a different colored paper, with their special seal of approval on it.

It is your marriage certificate.  You can get a certified copy through the county where your marriage was recorded so you don't have to send the original.

Thanks Hank! I already have several certified copies of my marriage certificate.
