I finished uploading all of our civil and AOS docs on the CEAC site. Everything says either Paid or Submitted.

I got an email from NVC saying that on 3/15 our DS-260 was submitted and that we should mail all documents to NVC, and they provided the address. Do I ignore this email since we are in CEAC?

never ignore NVC / you are at that stage and need to submit the required documents / there is no CEAC stage (that is a place for NVC and embassy to post)

But I submitted all documents by uploading them. Isn't that the point of CEAC? So you don't have to mail anything? Are we required to mail everything after we upload it?

you have not submitted all yet as the IRS transcripts have to be mailed along with the criiminal investigation (with bar code letter)

Are you speaking from experience with being a pivot case? Why would IRS transcripts need to be mailed...there was a tab to specifically upload those...along with a tab to upload the criminal report.

My husband came on IR1 visa

if you have not yet received the bar code letter from NVC you do need to wait for it

there will be a list of needed items for NVC

after they recive all they need,  there will be an appointment letter from NVC to embassy with another letter (for admission to interview) and any other documents needed (originals) at interview

Ok, so you didn't use the CEAC system. It's relatively new, some countries aren't eligible for it. They just send an email & a link to their site...everything is done electronically & all documents are uploaded. They created this to speed up the process. However, I think they still send these automatically generated messages to mails docs.

If anyone that has gone through CEAC & can confirm that they didn't mail anything, that would be great!

I am assuming the case number begins with ISLxxxxxx   and that you are interviewing at islamabad.

Did you receive email / letter from the NVC instructing you to use the CEAC upload for ypir NVC documents? Not all cases at the CEAC upload option are processed this way... only thoze receiving the direction... otherwise it is email or mail ( applicants choice)

If you did recieve the email/ letter instructing you to jse the CEAC upload, then yes, I would disregard the letter.. and continue uploading on the CEAC site

No we are going through Turkey.

But yes, we did receive the email telling us to use CEAC & to upload everything, which we've done. I will call tomorrow just to confirm, but thank you!

We, personally,  went thru 6 years of immigration for our visa

and Kris is right

there is still a lot of work to be done at NVC stage'

you not only pay the 2 fees and fill out AOS and spouse does DS 260 online but NVC will ask for supporting docments

Have you been asked yet to submit supporting documents about your income?

have you been asked to submit the criminal investigation from Turkey on spouse?

they even asked us for original marriage certificate / we had sent original in and they lost it

when you get all these documents plus the Turkish ones( plus English translation) be sure to put the Case number, both  names and both DOB's in upper rigth hand corner of EACH AND EVERY PAGE

do not staple,  paper clip and put these documents in a binder

and send them with the bar code sheet all in the same mailing

so, take what we say or forget it

up to you

I didn’t go through CEAC but I think it’s a generic email and our status said that till we got a case complete. I think you are fine since you did the electronic filing of your documents. If in doubt just call NVC and ask them.

I appreciate all advice! However, as we all know, the system changes constantly! So for some, it's not required to mail anything at all anymore. Sounds crazy, but they are evolving. I've paid both fees, we completed the ds-260...and then it unlocks a tab to upload all documents...so I've uploaded I-864, tax transcripts...plus all civil docs including birth certificate, criminal report, military records, marriage certificate, etc. They label everything, so you just click on the tab that says "criminal report" & then upload it. I know there are longtime members on here & I really appreciate everyone's advice...but the system changes so frequently, that what one person went through a year ago could be totally different to what people have to deal with now.
